The stress response can grab us and not seem to let go. This course offers powerful techniques that re-write our relationship with stress and help us make the most of it. The four "Cs" are invitations to use stress, uncertainty, and turmoil as reminders of what we're truly made of, to connect more deeply, and to highlight the unique gifts we offer the world.

Welcome to the four C's to transform stress. Researchers on mental hardiness identified three C's and they are control, commitment, and challenge. And I've added a fourth, which is compassion. In this course, we'll explore these C's through the lens of the nervous system and through acceptance and commitment therapy. Stress and overwhelm can impact us by narrowing our focus and so we'll apply these four C's in ways that they can give us our broader aperture back. Stress and overwhelm can also cause us to shut down and deactivate. We will use these four C's to learn how to remain active and engaged, creative and adaptable. And lastly, stress can cause us to feel that we're trapped or might cause us to forget our broader purpose or the values that make our life feel worth living, the values that make us feel like we're a good person. So we will also explore how these four C's can ground us back in our principles, our values, and ultimately contribute to a life that feels worth living.
