What does it mean to live with an open heart? I think it means that we can feel gratitude. We can forgive easily. Have compassion and kindness for ourselves and others. Giving and receiving with joy and balance. But who hasn't had their heart broken at some stage in life? Whether by a lover, a partner, friend or other loved one. Or maybe a loved one has passed and we wonder if we can ever feel the same again. I have actually felt physical pain in my heart from feelings of lost love or rejection or abandonment quite a few times in my life. And I know I'm not the only one. Along the way, we learn to build a wall around our heart and tell ourselves not to let anyone in. Due to heartbreak, we find it hard to get close to others or maybe to trust again. Opening our hearts may take time. Many of us have worked very hard to build up our walls and our defences and it isn't always easy to knock them down. But it begins with loving yourself. I truly hope you can join me on this 10 day challenge to open your heart to all you deserve.
