This micro-course will give you a basic exploration of ACT, a flexible model that gives us insights and tools to help us stay on track with what matters in life.

Everyone struggles from time to time. Everyone takes their unhelpful thoughts seriously. Everyone struggles with uncomfortable feelings. Everyone gets unclear or has an imbalance in their values, their life direction, the things that they care about.

And so, instead of asking ‘Who is act for?’ It’s better to ask ‘Who is ACT not for?’

Anybody that is interested about insights into the human mind & behaviour. Anybody that would like to gain some tools to help them stay more grounded in their external world, more receptive in their internal world, and more engaged in doing things that matter.

So, let’s have fun. Let’s do this together. Learning these insights. Putting the tools into practice in this micro-course. I’ll be here in the classroom every day for any comments or questions that you may have.

 The Acceptance Commitment Therapy Microcourse. This microcourse will give you a basic exploration of ACT, a flexible model that gives us insights and tools to help us stay on track with what matters in life. My name's Reuben, I'm really excited to get into this microcourse with you. I've founded an online organisation called Mindful Creation, as well as the non-profit charity for young people's mental health, which is called ACT On It. I also work at one of the largest health clinics in the Southern Hemisphere, and have written the ACT Foundation's therapeutic programmes for HealthScope, which are being used throughout Australia. Everyone struggles from time to time. Everyone takes their unhelpful thoughts seriously from time to time. Everyone struggles with uncomfortable feelings from time to time. Everyone gets unclear or has an imbalance in their values, the things that they care about. Everybody reacts in ways that they later regret. Instead of asking, who is ACT for? It's better to ask, who is ACT not for? Anybody that is interested about insights into the human mind and behaviour. Anybody that would like to gain some tools to help them stay more grounded in their external world, more receptive in their internal world, and more engaged in doing things that matter.
