The rooms are each equipped with AC units, dark shades, and comfy mattresses and will have you well rested for each morning’s slow flow yoga practice. As for toiletries, organic shampoo + conditioner + body wash will be ready for you in your shower. Purified drinking water is available throughout the property so we can remain a plastic free experience. La Joya is about 45 minutes north of Puerto Vallarta – easily accessible by car, uber or bus. This family owned retreat centre is located on Playa Escondida, the ‘hidden beach’. It’s a short golf cart ride from the nearby town of Sayulita, a Mexican tourism designated ‘Pueblo Magico’ or magical town, that draws travellers from around the globe for its beginner friendly surf, lively art, music and bohemian charm.

Indulge your senses and delight in the flavours crafted by Nayarit’s own Chef Jorge Miramontes at La Joya's onsite restaurant - The Tekuamana.

The Tekuamana menu is inspired by Mexican tradition and elevated by sourcing of organic, local and wild ingredients. The kitchen cooks without seed-oils, opting instead for ghee, avocado oil and rendered fat as well as incorporating house made lacto-fermented foods, sourdough bread and kombucha. The result is the most healthful and distinctive culinary experience in the area. 

The Tekuamana bar has brought together local experts to create a menu of designer cocktails, craft beers, natural and organic wines as well as exciting non-alcoholic options - all of which use the highest quality local ingredients to create unique, fresh and delicious taste experiences.

Spa Yoga 
Think mellow, slow flows, nervous system reset, long hip openers, and less effort. Carolyn developed this form of yoga over 10 years after witnessing repeated injuries and chronic stress in clients. A Spa Yoga class is built upon the pillars of slowness, permission to adapt poses, heartfelt themes, and lots of deep breathing.

Meditation + Mindfulness 
Meditation can help us better understand the correct tools and questions for navigating challenges. Meditation is not an escape from life; it is a means to discover more ease and flow as we travel along our path. Through seated and reclined meditation techniques, Carolyn offers simple and powerful ways to become more present.

Breathwork 
Breathwork is an effective tool for transformation, release, and optimal wellness. Carolyn shares a multitude of soothing and energizing techniques with openness and many options for each individual.

Curated Workshops 
We’ll create room to pause and reconnect with yourself in a way that’s nourishing, steady, and real. These sessions will allow you to explore what it means to show up for yourself, to tune into your intuition, and to find a sense of ease in your everyday life.

Spa Circuit 
Red cedar sauna, steam room, and cold plunge tub with jaw-dropping views. Repeat.
