This grounding and invigorating meditation will guide you through your energy centers and release energetic blocks. 

Energy And Connection

 Let's go ahead and find our meditation posture. Whether that be sitting on a cushion, sitting upright on a chair, or it could even be standing for this meditation. Wherever you're at, begin to feel your lower body start to root down. Feel the weight start to descend. And conversely, find a lifting quality through your upper body. Find a lift through your upper chest. Find a lift through the upper jaw. Bring the ears back in space. Soften the forehead. Soften the belly. And for today I invite you to rest your hands facing up and connecting your pointer and your thumbs. We're going to be working on creating energy within our body. This gives us a center, a circuit that allows the energy to, instead of leaving our fingers, circuit back into our body. To increase the flow and the charge of what we create. Or I should say what we bring into our existence because the energy is already there. So begin by simply finding your breath. Start to become aware of the sensation of the inhale as it passes in through your nose. And allow the warm air of the body to release on the exhale. And with each inhale find an expansive and open nature to the body. And with each exhale see if you can feel a little bit more of a rooting and grounding nature of your body. Starting in a very simple way of just following our breath. It is this breath that is going to help to create more energy in our body today by bringing all of the positive of the outside world into us. And then releasing all of the negative, all of the stuck energy from the inside world to the outside world. Maybe for the next couple moments start to intentionally deepen your breath. And notice how just that small intention might already open up your chest and already bring that energy into the body. So today to connect us and to enliven us we are going to do a work up through our own energy centers. So to begin we are going to find ourselves seated and wherever you find yourself seated or you could also envision this standing. Right below your chair or your cushion I would like you to envision this light that is coming up from the center of the earth out of the ground through the base of your spine. And coming up through the crown of your head. And this light can be even larger than just your spine so it is almost as if a spotlight were coming up from the ground. Straight up through the crown of your head, through the ceiling, through up towards the clouds if you are outside. And it just continues to go up and up. Meeting you in its center. And notice if there is any change in just noticing the light coming up and reconnect to your breath. I am going to begin by bringing our awareness to the root of our spine. Make it feel just under the tailbone. Imagining a beautiful bright red light energy. And breathing some deep breaths into that part of the body. But I would like you to imagine as if you are breathing up the spine. As we do our chakra work we are always going to be breathing up the spine to release blocked energy. And to bring our lower energy up into our higher energy where our true love and compassion exist. So imagine this red energy. You could envision it as a twirling disc. Or you can just envision it as a white light, or excuse me, a red light. Taking those intentional breaths right down into that area. And beginning to breathe more energy into that part of the body. And to breathe it up, I know this might be a little off putting in a meditation, but to feel like the energy is really getting pulled up. You can almost feel like you are holding in a pee. And feel like you are sending the energy up the spine. And we are going to begin to move upwards. This time just up the back towards the sacral center. You can imagine this around your genital area, an orange light. And all we are doing is just connecting that red light to the orange light and continuing to breathe the energy up. And you may be feeling the belly move a little bit closer to the spine. And continue to bring the shoulders back. Ears back. And you may feel as you go through this that the spine wants to naturally start to lift itself. And you also may not. So there is no right way to experience this. So breathe in the connecting dot from the base up through the sacral center. And then let's begin to move up to our third energy center right at our solar plexus. So you can imagine it just below the rib cage. And envisioning a yellow light. And then bringing deep breaths into this area. And once you have created some energy in your light, beginning to continue to breathe from the red to the orange to the yellow. So balancing our lower centers. Our lower centers are really the more material centers and actions of our lives. They are concerned with being secure, having enough money, having emotional security, house. Concerned with reproduction, sexual energy. And as we get into the third it moves into achievement, status, and doing our part in the world. They are all great for what they allow us to do. But sometimes as the energy gets stuck in one of these, it could cut us off from our upper energies. Which are the deeper energies of love and connection and a real deep sense of peace. So continue to work on balancing these three. And to balance them, instead of just bringing the energy up, I'd like you for a few breaths to feel like the energy is moving back and forth. So it's moving from your red up to the orange up to the yellow. And then your exhale is bringing it back down. You're just almost like pacing it up and down, up and down. It doesn't mean you have to take fast breaths necessarily. It's more about the intention within the body. And the awareness. Release that thought and then bring the awareness back to just bringing the energy up through the entire spine. And we're going to move now to our fourth center, the heart chakra. Located right at the center of the chest. Maybe you feel your inner shoulders roll back to your outer shoulders to allow a little bit more space in your chest. And then breathe in a beautiful green light energy to this part, opening up into the spiritual parts of the energy center. And then the head, when the heart opens, is when the real awakening begins to happen. So take a few moments to just set the intention of breathing in through your heart. Starting to bring energy to that green light. And then come back to breathing all of the energy continuing to move up the spine. And before we move on, just because we're here, I'd like you to just think of someone that you care for deeply. Someone that you love. And just for a couple breaths, allow that loving energy to further open and send loving energy to your heart through that intention. We're going to move up now, continuing to move the energy up the spine. Remember that white light is still right under us, extending all the way up. And we're going to come into our throat. Imagining now a blue light with an intention to clear the blockages in what holds us back from really being able to communicate our deepest emotions. Being able to express ourselves. And for a few breaths, breathing in that blue energy. And then connecting from the base, the sacrum, solar plexus, heart, to the throat. Sending it up. Opening it up. Moving up now to your third eye center. Finding a little bit more softening in that brow. Feeling like your eyes begin to melt deeper into your head. Imagining an indigo purple. Opening the channels for true sight. To be able to sense things that might not be seen to the naked eye. Take a few breaths to breathe in energy here. And then connect the lower centers up through this center. And then finally come up to the crown of the head, right at the top of the head. Imagining a beautiful bright white effervescent light. The center that connects you to something greater. Maybe it's a belief in God or a belief in just a power, an energy that holds the worlds together. It could just be a belief in your highest self. Using the white light that we sit on to only further infuse the white light at the crown of the head. To brighten. To enliven. And then take a deep breath, filling the lower energies up towards the higher ones. All the way through the crown of your head. We're going to balance our entire system. So feel like the breath is moving up towards the crown and then send it back down towards the base. And bring your chin parallel. Tuck the navel in. And may allow you to strain the back of the spine to feel the energy moving up and down. Take a few more really good intentional breath. And then just release the awareness on the spine. Allow all of the work that you did to begin to settle. Release the awareness of any colors. But continue to define yourself as rusting gently as that light from underneath in which we started with still finds itself there. Taking this time to soak in the work that you did by keeping a relaxed and open awareness. Feel free to keep this feeling of light kind of lifting you up and enlivening your spirit all day as you go through your day. Knowing that reconnecting with your energy can be simply just a breath away and an intention to breathe that energy from the ground up to the higher centers. And when you feel ready you can begin to release your finger from your thumb. Maybe begin to roll out your shoulders a little bit. And in your own time beginning to open your eyes and come back to your day. As always, Namaste.
