Grounding Practice - The Tree

 Allow your eyes to comfortably close. And let the surface beneath you take your weight. Imagine it knows exactly how to support you in all the right places, all the right ways. And allow your body to soften into this support. As you do so, breathe out, let any holdings and tensions soften, and flow out and away. With each out-breath, let the body and mind soften and release what they no longer need. Let it flow out and away. And imagine you are sitting with your back against a tree. Allow yourself to feel its sturdy trunk behind your back, shoulders and head. Let the solid ground beneath you. Let your body's weight be taken by the tree and the ground. And come back home. To rest against the steady trunk of the tree. Home to rest. As you rest, sense the volume of the trunk behind you. Sense the roots going deep into the ground, spreading far and wide. And come back home. Sense the boughs arching high above you, up towards sky. And the network of branches connecting outwards. Sense the canopy of lush foliage above you. In your own time. Allow yourself to tune in with the energy of the tree. And begin to become one with the tree. One with its wisdom. One with its strength. One with its ability to endure. Repair. Grow and thrive. One with the quiet, steady power of its life force energy. Boom. Imagine this life force spreading out all around, like a glow, a glow of life force surrounding the tree, surrounding you. And allow yourself to just be for a while. One with the tree. One with its enoughness. Its completeness. One that gives its full strength to others.
