Practice alternate nostril breathing to balance your energy, find inner equilibrium, and start your day with mindful purpose.

English

Join me in Jamaica for a quick, energizing 5-minute morning breathwork practice, beautifully filmed by the ocean at sunrise. This guided Alternate Nostril Breathing (Nadi Shodhana) session is designed to help you balance your nervous system and cultivate focused energy for the day ahead. Accompanied by the soothing, natural sounds of the ocean, we will begin with three collective breaths to center ourselves before moving into six rounds of alternate nostril breathing. Please find a comfortable seated position to begin.
Safety note: Please ensure you are in a safe, stationary environment and do not practice this breathwork technique while driving or operating heavy machinery.

Morning Energy: 5-Minute Sunrise Alternate Nostril Breathing

Hi friends, what a beautiful day it is to breathe on purpose in Jamaica. Let's do some morning breath work so that we can energize ourselves for the day. And when I say morning, it could be the start of something new, whether it's a task, whether it's a day, or whether it's just a moment in between your day to breathe on purpose. Today we will be doing alternate nostril breathing. And when it comes to alternate nostril breathing, this really helps to bring us back to equilibrium. Let's get started. So first we'll do three breaths to begin, and then we'll go into our alternate nostril breathing. So inviting you to close your eyes or give yourself a soft gaze. And simply... tune into your breath here, breath awareness. And just ask yourself how you arrived to practice today. Just allow yourself to feel. the essence of you. Let's take a collective deep breath in here, in through the nose. And then full breath out through the mouth. Maybe if you're new to alternate nostril breathing, you open your eyes, but we'll begin. So let's bring our thumb on our right nostril. Take a deep breath in through your left. Ring finger on your left, covering your left, exhale through your right. Inhale through your right nostril. Exhale left. That was round one. Five more to go. Deep breath in, left nostril. Exhale right. Inhale right. Exhale left. Inhale left nostril. Exhale right. Inhale, right nostril. Exhale left. Inhale through your left nostril. Exhale, right. Inhale right nostril. Accel left. Inhale, left nostril. Exhale right. Inhale right. Exhale left. Last round, best round, friends. Deep breath in through the left. Exhale, right. Inhale through your right nostril. Exhale left. Bringing both palms facing up in your lap or wherever you are. Take a deep inhale in through the nose. Exhale through the mouth. Two more, inhaling in through the nose. and exhale through your mouth. Last one, best one, deep breath in through the nose. and exhale through your mouth Take a moment here to find your breath. Noticing the sensations in your body, maybe noticing the shift that has arrived. We're more collective inhale and friends. and full breath out. Gently opening your eyes. I feel the sun warming my body and my face. It's like right behind you. You are the sun for me. I hope that practice was good for you, that you felt great doing your alternate nostril breathing, that you feel a little bit more at peace and more at ease. You deserve that. Thank you so much for breathing with me from the wonderful Jamaica, the ocean sounds, the natural sounds of life. Have a beautiful day on purpose.
