Whenever you're feeling drained or disconnected, this practice can help you get plugged back into the earth below, and the heavens above. The perfect practice to start your day, or get a little energy boost!

Power Up Meditation

 Hello and welcome friend. This is a short exercise that I like to do every morning or whenever I feel like I need a little extra energy. I like to call it powering up. So you can do this meditation, this practice sitting or lying down or even standing. So I invite you to close your eyes and take a nice deep breath in through the nose and out through the mouth. Take a couple more of those breaths here together. Just really getting present in this moment. Now for this type of practice it's important to remember that you have access to all of the energy that you could ever need. And this practice is about getting you plugged back in to those inexhaustible sources of energy. So we will begin with the energy below. This is the earth energy. This is stable and grounding and healing, nourishing energy. So I invite you to imagine coming out of the base of your spine, out of the root chakra. It's almost like an extension cord. This long cord of energy coming out from you, going down into the ground, through the soil into Mother Earth. It's like we are plugging you in. Once you are plugged in here to the earth energy, you can draw up this energy anytime you wish. It's like sucking liquid up a straw. So I want you to imagine and really feel as you inhale, pulling energy up through Mother Earth, up into your root chakra, into your body. Really feeling this grounded connection. Good. Now we will plug you in to the energy above. This is the source of spirit energy. So I invite you to imagine at the crown of your head, the very top of your head, another extension cord coming up, going up, up, up into the heavens. And plugging you in to this inexhaustible source of energy. This energy is uplifting and clarifying. Expansive and positive. Plugged into this heavenly source of spirit energy. Just like we did with the earth energy, you can call upon and draw upon this energy, pulling it in through your crown, into your body. So let's take a few breaths now to do that. As you inhale, imagine drawing in this beautiful, bright energy from the crown of your head, circulating it through your body. Good. Now you are connected above and below, you are connected to heaven and to earth, to all the energy you could ever need. So I invite you, throughout the day, just remember these connections that you have made. Seeing these beautiful cords of energy coming out down through the root chakra and out up the crown chakra. Reminding yourself that you can draw in the earth energy and the heavenly energy anytime you wish. Power yourself back up. Let's take a few more nice deep breaths here together, pulling in this energy, circulating this energy through the body. Feeling that groundedness, that clarity, and feeling prepared to face whatever is ahead, whatever the day may bring. And whenever you're ready, feel free to open your eyes and come back into the space around you.
