Sensory Reset For Overwhelm

Let's take a moment to ground through the senses. You can keep your eyes open for this. Begin by noticing five things you can see. Let your eyes move slowly around the space. Colors, shapes, textures. Now noticing four things you can feel. Maybe your feet on the floor, your clothing against your skin, the air touching your face. Next, three things you can hear. Sounds close by or further away. My voice. Just noticing them as sound. Now, two things you can smell. Perhaps a scent in the room or simply noticing the quality of the air. And finally, one thing you can taste. It could be the taste in your mouth right now or maybe just taking a sip of water and noticing that sensation. That's it. Just noticing. You are here now. Let's continue.
