Sunset Meditation - Awe, Perspective, Expansiveness

 Welcome to your sunset meditation. You take this moment to pause from the rush of your day, the rush of the world, to sit or stand in awe of the vista before you. You focus in on your breath, riding it like the wave of nature that it is. You feel your feet on the ground, you become aware of your body, you relax your muscles in your face, release the stresses of the day, the worries about tomorrow, and feast your eyes. Notice the colors, the shapes of the clouds, silhouettes. Lose yourself in this moment. Surrender to the beauty and the presence that a sunset brings. Your eyes trace the sun as it moves down. The colors change like everything changes. And you revel in that ephemeral nature of everything. Everything good ends so that it can later become good again. Everything challenging ends so that you can prepare for the next challenge. This sunset will set and rise again. You too will change. You're different from yesterday's sunset. You will be different for tomorrow's sunset. As you look around, scanning the horizon, taking in mother nature's beauty, you allow yourself to feel connected to it all. You change as nature changes. You are stunning as nature is stunning. And you are present in this moment now. You allow your perspective to rise up, up, up, to see yourself from above, to rise higher and see the path of your life, to let the daily frustrations become minuscule from high above. Breathing in and out, you feel peace coursing through your being. You smile at this gorgeous sunset, this beautiful moment to be alive, and the cosmic wonder of all of your existence, all of existence. As you let awe, peace, and wonder pervade your being, your spirit rises, begins to vibrate higher, with more joy, more gratitude, and more connectedness to all that is. Accepting change, welcoming growth, and appreciating the beauty of an ending.
