This is a tantric meditation for couples to experience the journey from our personal wholeness to divine union and back to our personal wholeness. Tantric union first connects us with our own divinity and then through the interplay of masculine and feminine energies, we are able to fully merge with another person and come into divine oneness together.
It is for couples of all orientations. During the meditation, there will be different instructions for the "masculine" partner and for the "feminine" partner. In a same-sex relationship, which polarity you choose is dependent on you. "Masculine" and "feminine" are simply two parts of a whole, like yin & yang or positive & negative magnetic charges. Please choose which you sense is your polarity.
This exercise can be done sitting apart, in yabyum, on chairs, on the floor, fully clothed, naked, or in intercourse.

Tantric Meditation For Couples To Experience Divine Union

 This is a journey from our sacred separateness to sacred union with another. Step 1. Love your separateness. Please come standing on either side of the room, at least 10 feet from the other. Standing tall, close your eyes and breathe deeply. Feel your completeness. Feel the breath come up from your feet through your body, flowing into your belly, your hands, your face, to the tip of your head. Know that you are a divine being, completely whole, completely divine and physical. Know that you are content in your own soul. You are complete. Take a deep breath in and out. Place one hand in the center of your chest and one over your genitals. For the masculine partner, feel energy from the universe coming into your heart chakra, where your upper hand is. And feel yourself giving energy to the world through your root chakra, where your lower hand is. For the feminine partner, feel energy from the universe coming into your root chakra, your lower hand, and feel yourself sharing energy with the world through your heart chakra. Feel this energy flowing in a circle, into your body and out into the universe. The universe feeding and nourishing you and you giving out to the world with all of your wonderful energy. Feel this effortlessly flow through a few breaths. Step 2. Observing the other. Open your eyes and see that there is another person in the room. Notice their beauty. See their wholeness. Breathe deeply in gratitude that this other person is here. Be very natural, totally relax. Feel your attention being drawn to this other person. A part of you is coming out of your wholeness to join with this other person. Your attention is being drawn out of yourself and towards the other. Now close your eyes. In your mind, imagine reaching a hand out towards them. Can you feel them energetically also reaching out a hand? Breathe deeply and feel this connection between you. Step 3. Physical connection. Open your eyes and look at the other. Take a breath together and slowly start to walk towards each other. Staying about one foot apart, reach out your arms to hold their hands gently. Breathe naturally. Allow yourself to be honest. Honor whatever feelings are rising. Energy can only be shared in truth and openness. Hide nothing. Go deep into your heart and be trustworthy for this other person. And trust this other person's heart as well. Let your truth flow through your connection silently and let their truth flow into you. Know that you are connected to the divine. If there is sadness, nervousness, pain or happiness, allow it all to flow through you into the divine. And breathe. Step 4. Full union. Now come into whatever posture you would like. You could sit on two chairs facing each other with your knees touching, holding hands. Or sitting cross-legged on the floor facing each other. The masculine partner could sit on a chair with the feminine partner straddling them, pressing your bellies together. The masculine partner could sit cross-legged on the floor with the feminine partner sitting on their lap facing them in a yab-yum position. Let your hands hold the other in a comfortable way. You could be clothed or naked. You can also be in sexual union if you like. The key is that you are totally comfortable. So please pause this meditation if needed to use whatever cushions or props you might need to be completely comfortable and feel connected to the other. Okay, close your eyes. Allow your breathing to be totally natural. There is no right way to do this. Each time will be different, perfectly reflecting who each of you are in this moment. Allow yourselves to sink into this posture with the other. You have chosen to merge with this other person. This is different than being separate. So bit by bit, with each breath, allow your separation to vanish. With each breath, feel any walls or barriers melting away. Be fully aware of this other person, allowing your breath to flow easily. Now for the masculine partner, as you inhale, feel love coming from your partner's heart center into your heart center. As you exhale, feel love flowing from your root chakra into your partner's root chakra. For the feminine partner, as you inhale, feel the love flowing from your partner's root chakra into your root chakra. And as you exhale, feel the love flowing from your heart center into your partner's heart center. Feel the energy effortlessly flowing in a circle between you. Let all thoughts go and allow yourself to merge completely with the other. Feel yourself as one being, breathing together in a single wholeness. Now let's move on to the feminine partner. As you exhale, feel the love flowing from your heart center into your heart center. Feel the energy effortlessly flowing in a single wholeness. Now let's move on to the feminine partner. As you exhale, feel the love flowing from your heart center into your heart center. Feel the energy effortlessly flowing in a single wholeness. Now let's move on to the feminine partner. As you exhale, feel the love flowing from your heart center into your heart center. Feel the energy effortlessly flowing in a single wholeness. Now let's move on to the feminine partner. As you exhale, feel the love flowing from your heart center into your heart center. Feel the energy effortlessly flowing in a single wholeness. Now let's move on to the feminine partner. As you exhale, feel the love flowing from your heart center into your heart center. Feel the energy effortlessly flowing in a single wholeness. Now let's move on to the feminine partner. As you exhale, feel the love flowing from your heart center into your heart center. Feel the energy effortlessly flowing in a single wholeness. Now let's move on to the feminine partner. As you exhale, feel the love flowing from your heart center into your heart center. Feel the energy effortlessly flowing in a single wholeness. Now let's move on to the feminine partner. Step 5. Let's take a deep breath together. Silently thank this beautiful soul for being with you today. Let your hearts fill with gratitude. If you are sitting apart, slowly come to standing and open your arms and give the other a warm hug. If you are sitting close, shift your embrace to a grateful hug. Hold each other tight in silence filled with gratitude and light. Breathe together for a moment or two. Your joined hearts send a message to the other that it's time to release and come back into our own bodies. Very gently release your embrace. Hold hands and look into each other's eyes. Know that you are together even while you're apart. Feel the connection flow through your hands and arms and body. Feel love flow through your body from your partner and from the universe. Slowly allow your hands to release and let them hang by your side. Know that you are a divine being who has the option to be totally whole or can choose union with another. That this wonderful energy is always flowing through us. Take a deep breath together. Send one last silent thank you to this wonderful partner and slowly begin walking backwards to your original position. Once you are there, feel the love between you. Also feel the energy around you. Gently close your eyes. Let your arms gently rise at your sides to about the height of your chest like a starfish. Take a deep breath in and feel sun on your face. As you exhale, let your hands gently come down to your sides. Be aware of your energy flowing with the universe. Feel your wholeness. Feel the love flowing through you. Open your eyes and gaze at your partner. Bring your hands to your chest. Let a smile come to your face. And gently bow to your partner honoring this wonderful soul in your life. Namaste.
