This guided practice with binaural enhancement, is inspired by the practice of self-inquiry and is ideal for people who use this question as part of their practice, as well as those who would like to start working with it. Also known as a Zen Koan, this practice works to deepen the connection to the present moment with guidance in order explore the essential nature of being.

Who Am I?

 Who am I in this moment? Aware of the breath? Aware of my body? Aware of sounds? Aware of my heartbeat? Aware of listening? Aware of the moment? Aware of one moment as it flows into the next? Aware of being aware? Aware of this aliveness that is in me? This consciousness? Observing, feeling, sensing? Aware of thoughts as they float by like clouds? In this moment, simply giving space to whatsoever is the content of my experience? Just following this beautiful flow of breath? Breathing in life? Breathing in life? Breathing out and letting go? This relaxation? Softening? Deepening stillness? Just relaxing with this moment as it is? Allowing the breath to be steady? Releasing the grip of thoughts and emotions? Like being released from a dream? Let the thoughts go. Just observe. Who am I in this moment? Who am I without my stories? Who am I? Continue to allow the breath to flow in a gentle rhythm? Like the calming motion of waves on the shore? A gentle motion of breathing in, breathing out? As the feeling of relaxation deepens, sense the supporting connection to the earth? This grounded feeling, this connectedness, the support? The support of Mother Earth? Just settle. Settle into this stillness. Relax there. Be at peace. Who am I without my stories, this observer? Place your attention on the part of you that seems to be aware. Gently hold the intention to know that part directly. Who am I? Hold this question for a moment. Take it into your heart. Who am I?
